Benson Boon showcased his talents with “mystical magic” and “Sorry, I'm here for someone else” Saturday evening on the air Last night (April 3) – Check out the clips below.

Exciting New Album Ahead

The singer-songwriter Benson made his debut on a show with two tracks from his upcoming album “American Heart,” which is set to release on June 20 through Night Street Records/Warner.

His February single “Excuse me, I’m here for someone else” offered the first glimpse of the recording. During his performance, Boon engaged with Quinta Brunson before joining the group on stage.

He then delivered “mystical magic,” a track he first performed at Coachella earlier this month, following his collaboration with Brian May on a cover of Queen’s classic hit “Bohemian Rhapsody,” featuring an unexpected guest for a special rendition of “beautiful things.”

Despite the positive crowd reaction at Coachella, Boon responded to criticisms about his guest appearance. During his weekend performance, he humorously referenced a cardboard cutout of May on his guitar.

Fans speculated that his collaboration with May stemmed from recent comparisons to Freddie Mercury, as Boon often draws inspiration from Mercury’s iconic style in his own performances.

Following Coachella, Boon addressed his detractors in a recent TikTok post, suggesting they offer more constructive criticism: “If you hate me or my music, at least give a good reason.”

“I just read a comment that said, ‘I don’t even know why I hate Benson Boon, but it seems right.’ What?!

Boon, known for his vibrant and energetic live shows, added: “At least say something fair, like, ‘He just turns around everywhere. Can he do something else?’”

As for “beautiful things,” he remarked: “Or, ‘I just don’t like his songs, but my opinion is based on the same one I keep hearing over and over again’ (super reliable).”

The track was nominated for International Song of the Year at the British 2025 awards, and Boon was also recognized in the category of “International Artist of the Year.” Additionally, he performed “beautiful things” at this year’s Grammy Awards, where he was nominated for Best New Artist, an honor that ultimately went to Chappell Roan.
