Bruce Willis’s Daughter Reflects on Her Final Encounter with Aaron Carter

Remembering Aaron Carter

Bruce Willis’s daughter fondly recalled her last encounter with Aaron Carter during an interview for a new documentary focused on the late musician and his brother.

Carter was tragically discovered unresponsive in a bathtub at his home in Lancaster, California, in 2022, and was pronounced dead shortly after paramedics arrived. He was only 34 years old.

The documentary, titled Carters: It Hurts to Love You, premiered on Paramount+ on April 15 and chronicles the journey of Aaron and his brother Nick, who is a member of the Backstreet Boys, towards achieving their dreams.

Scout’s Memories of Aaron

In the documentary, Scout reminisced about her childhood obsession with Aaron when she was around ten years old and her desire to meet him. She shared that on her 12th birthday, while vacationing with her family at Disney World, her dream came true as she met Aaron.

“The most surreal and electric moment rushed through me, something you can’t describe,” Scout recalls, noting that Bruce Willis had invited Aaron to join the birthday celebration.

She depicted Aaron as “the sweetest, most beautiful, gracious boy” she had ever met. Despite his youth, he often found himself feeling alone and chose to spend that weekend with her family.

“It was so rare for him to just hang out and be carefree with kids his age, something I only understood years later,” she reflected on that special day.

In 2013, while attending university, Scout reached out to Aaron’s team when she learned he was touring near her college, hoping to see him again. When they did reunite, she noted, “All those feelings came rushing back, and I couldn’t believe the situation I was in.”

At one of his concerts, Aaron called Scout on stage, pulling her onto his lap, which she described as a moment where “I could die right then,” before he kissed her in front of the audience. Although he later asked her to be his girlfriend, she declined.

“It was clear that was not the answer he wanted to hear, and it might have slightly bruised his ego,” Scout continued. “After that, we lost touch.”

Looking back, Scout shared her impression that Aaron was “someone who seemed incredibly lonely and longed for genuine love.”

He remarked, “I’m still processing everything and trying to understand it all – because it’s just so hard. I hope that, in time, I will be able to make sense of it.”

After Aaron’s passing, Nick shared an emotional tribute online, expressing, “My heart is broken. Although my brother and I had a complicated relationship, my love for him never wavered. I always held onto the hope that he would find a healthy path and get the help he desperately needed.”

Nick further added, “I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you, Chiz. Now you can finally find the peace that you couldn’t find here on Earth…. I love you, little brother.”

In honor of his brother’s memory, Nick also established a children’s mental health fund following Aaron’s death.
