Latest Album and Future Plans
The Sheffield band released their seventh and most recent studio album, “Post Human: Nex Gen,” last May. It was subsequently named one of NME‘s best albums of 2024, praised for “setting new bars for modern metal.”
In a December interview with NME, Sykes mentioned that Bring Me the Horizon “has several new songs” prepared for their headline slots at Reading and Leeds 2025. He previously teased “Nex Gen: Director,” explaining his desire to release new music.
“We wrote so much for Nex Gen; there are many cool tracks that I think the world would love to hear,” he said in an interview with Kerrang!.
Recently, Sykes hinted at new music in a social media post. On April 1, he shared two images of himself in the recording studio with the caption: “In the Studio.”

Fan Reactions and Upcoming Events
Fans in the comment section are buzzing with speculation. One user questioned, “New music …?” while another expressed, “We need Nex Gen (Deluxe).” A third commenter added: “Oli is preparing something new 👀🔥⁉.”
This update comes shortly after Bring Me the Horizon announced a tour in North America for the fall of 2025. They will also perform at the Life Festival in the U.S. this September, following slots at German festivals in June.
In a previous conversation with NME at the Brits 2025, Sykes noted that BMTH needed some time off, stating, “At some point, we just need to find time.” He continued, “We want to do so much, and there are countless places we want to tour.”
Additionally, Sykes mentioned, “It will be good for us since it feels like we’ve been going nonstop since the release of ‘Post Human’ (the EP was released in 2020 with ‘survival horror’). We have not really paused.”
In earlier discussions with NME, Sykes affirmed that while they have new songs ready, they are not preparing a new album but rather some new material for their set at Reading and Leeds.
“These will be our only shows in the UK next year and possibly our last for a long time,” Sykes added. “This will be the culmination of the ‘Nex Gen’ release.”

When asked whether the upcoming new tracks would be part of the “Post Human” series or a continuation of its narrative, Sykes responded to NME, “Well, they don’t exist yet! There’s a bit more of the ‘Nex Gen’ story to be told through music.”
“We have many ideas and loose ends, and there’s enough there for a potential expanded release. I’ve experienced a lot over the years, so I’m not trying to make promises. If it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen. However, there are tracks that our fans adore, and it would be great to release them.”
Additionally, when asked about a potential timeline for the new BMTH album in 2026, he replied, “Yes, I don’t know. We haven’t figured that out yet. It may take a little longer than that. It’s hard to say at this moment.”

Regarding their upcoming major performances at Reading & Leeds ’25, Sykes remarked to NME: “We’ve recently begun working on what I believe will become the next era of live entertainment, integrating augmented reality and simulated visual effects…”
“My imagination has opened up widely. It felt like being a kid in a candy store, envisioning what could be possible in the near future. It spilled over from our arena tour this year.”
He concluded, “For Reading and Leeds, we will just keep pushing forward.”
