Upcoming Tour and Album Details

A long-standing friendship and collaboration among artists from Omaha, Nebraska, are set to hit the road together in the USA this April, with Bright Eyes headlining a tour in support of their 2024 album “Five Dice, All Threes.”

“The Hermit That I Do Not Need to Love” is a fusion of Conor Oberst and KOA, combining elements from their 2002 indie classic “I Should Not Love” and tracks from their 2003 album “Ugly Organ.”

The artists have explored the possibility of a mash-up since the original songs were penned when Matt Maginna’s spouse Carly became friends with Oberst, suggesting that these two tracks share lyrical and musical similarities.

“Five Dice, All Threes” was released last year, garnering critical acclaim and showcasing Oberst and his band collaborating with various artists, including Cat Power, Matt Berninger from The National, and So to Glos’ Alex Ornsge.

In an interview with NME, Oberst reflected on the project, stating: “This time I hope the songs resonate and hold equal value of meaning, but in terms of sound and approach, it’s a bit lighter.”

“The word ‘fun’ is rarely associated with my band, but perhaps this record is a bit more fun,” he added. “When we last toured, we had 14 pieces with strings and horns. This record will feature just guitars—rock and roll.”
