New Singles Announcement
Bon Iver has revealed two new singles ahead of their upcoming fifth album “Sable, Fable,” featuring a collaboration with Daniel Haim on one track.
Release Details
The group is set to launch “if I could only wait” featuring Daniel, along with “Walk Home,” on March 14. Both tracks will be accompanied by lyrical videos. Before the official launch, listeners can preview the songs through fleeting glimpses provided by a 24/7 camera channel and an artistic installation, created by Justin Vernon in Wisconsin last October. This installation has served as a medium for audience interaction since its inception.
These singles will feature on the album Sable, Fable, which is scheduled for release on April 11 via Jagjaguwar. This album follows 2019’s “I, I” and includes previously released tracks such as “things behind things behind things,” “Speysid E,” “Season,” and “All peaceful love.” Additional songs on the album include “short story,” “day of the first,” featuring Dijon and Flok Dam, “there is a rhythm,” and “Au Revoir.”
Artistic Direction
The album, crafted by Vernon and Jim-E-Stack, was primarily recorded at Vernon’s April Studio in Wisconsin. The project’s conceptual foundation was laid in February 2022 during a snow recording session with Stack and Haim. It was during this time that Vernon and Haim collaborated on “if I could only wait,” delving into themes of self-improvement beyond the initial stages of romance.
This album signifies a shift from the multi-layered production style of Vernon’s prior works, presenting a more straightforward approach to songwriting. Each track is purposefully designed to convey specific lessons, exploring themes of commitment and personal growth within relationships.
