New Single Release
BlondShell has unveiled her latest single “Two Times,” which is featured on her forthcoming album “If You Ask for a Picture,” set to release via Partisan Records.
About the Track
This new song showcases Sabrina Teitelbaum’s talent alongside the acoustic guitar and piano arrangements reminiscent of last month’s “T&B.” Yves Rotman took the production helm for this track, marking a return to collaborate after their work on the 2023 BlondShell debut of the same name.
The album title “If You Ask for a Photograph” draws inspiration from Mary Oliver’s 1986 poem “Dogfish.” Teitelbaum elaborates: “There is a part of a poem that says: ‘I do not need to tell you everything that I experienced. This is just another story about how someone is trying to survive.’ I appreciate how songs can capture a snapshot of a person or a relationship—sometimes, providing a glimpse of the story can be just as significant as attempting to convey every detail.”
Discussing “Two Times,” she reflects: “I often watch films and shows where conflict appears to be the only way to express love. Many narratives depict someone striving hard to win another’s affection, which seems to assign value to the relationship. This song questions whether love can simply be good and healthy. Does that make it less valuable? It raises a painful question about the worthiness of relationships, but it’s ultimately a love song.”
