Performance at Kia Forum

Eilish joined the trio to perform his 2009 hit “Last Night on Earth” at the Kia Forum in California last week.

Armstrong later shared a behind-the-scenes photo with Eilish, stating: “It was an absolute honor to play @fireaidla last night.” He added, “We had the best time with our friend @billieeilish, who joined us for ‘Last Night on Earth.’ We send you all our love. You can still donate to shoot assistance at Firaidla.org.”

Since then, the frontman has reminisced about the performance during an interview with Billboard. He recalled the moment in Grammys 2025 when Green Day lost the Best Rock Album award to The Rolling Stones.

“It’s funny when (Eilish) first started to come out, I saw a few shots on Instagram – I noticed some merchandise with a headband that said ‘Billy’ with ‘i.e.’ on it, and I thought, ‘I have to have that headband!’” said Armstrong.

“And then, she sent me a bunch of items with ‘Billy’ on them, and I was like, ‘Yes!‘”

Back in 2019, Armstrong and Eilish interviewed each other for a special issue of Katya Stone magazine.

“I know it sounds (strange), but I always gravitate toward music that feels like freedom,” Armstrong told her. “That’s what I hear in your music. It’s like a serious artist expressing themselves and incorporating new sounds. Some of them feel a bit jazzy to me, is that okay to say?”
