Billie Eilish has shared a heartfelt experience about the unforgettable moment she heard her fans sing along to her song “The Greatest” for the very first time.

Connection with Fans During Live Performances

The singer, alongside her brother and collaborator Finneas, participated in an interview with Apple Music, where she received the accolade of “Artist of the Year.” During their discussion, Eilish elaborated on the deep connection she feels while performing “The Greatest” on tour, recalling the emotional moment of singing it live.

When asked about the experience of expressing her emotions and sharing them with a vast audience, Eilish responded: “During the first show of the tour that I'm currently on, particularly with ‘The Greatest,’ I just… it carries so much significance for us. I recorded ‘The Greatest’ and took one of my headphones out, wanting to hear this enormous arena filled with people singing it.

“They sang all the other songs as well, but this one was especially poignant, as it holds so much meaning for me and represents cherished memories of how it was created and the inspiration it gave us.”

She continued, “Hearing the crowd sing it truly made me want to capture that moment. I could see it with my own eyes and hear it with my own ears. This is something I hold very dear. Every time I have the chance to witness how my work resonates with people in real time, that’s what truly matters.”

Eilish is currently on the Hit Me Hard And Soft Tour, promoting her third album of the same name. In a four-star review of the album, NME noted, “Billie entered this process with a strong desire to discover herself, both creatively and personally: ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’ is a wholly unique reflection of an outstanding talent stepping into young adulthood, embracing her eccentricities and navigating emotional highs and (occasionally) lows.” It emphasizes her journey of pursuing passion and love. By crafting an album for herself, she produced one that resonates deeper than any of her previous works.

In other news, Eilish brought out Charli XCX as a special guest during her LA show on December 17, where they performed a remix of “Guess.”

The remix by Charlie and Eilish is nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category. Both artists are also contenders for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, and more.

Additionally, her song “Birds Of A Feather” has recently been recognized as the magazine’s 12th best song of 2024 by NME. Her album “Hit Me Hard And Soft” was also featured in NME‘s list of the best albums of 2024, ranking ninth.
