It appears that Beta -Group is teasing a possible reunion after being active on social media last month.

Overview of the Band

Founded in 1996 by Scottish musicians Steve Mason and Gordon Anderson, Beta -Group has released three albums: The Beta Band in 1999, Hot Shots II in 2001, and Hero at Zeros in 2004. Ultimately, they disbanded in 2004, citing earnings of 1.2 million pounds for their recording company.

Since the start of this month, Beta -Group has been active on social media. On February 4, 2025, they posted their first photo on Instagram. Many of their social media messages feature animation clips titled “The wall cover of the bed,” along with various performances and photos hinting at their return.

It now appears the group may be suggesting a reunion tour. Their last three posts include video clips of a tour involving the Beta -Group, accompanied by visuals of waves washing ashore.

Fan Reactions and Legacy

“I have cleared my entire schedule. This has been meaningful all along,” wrote one fan in the comments, while another added, “Guys, stop the nonsense and announce a tour. This is what everyone is waiting for!”

Beta -Group has also joined the blues and updated their own official site with a section where fans can register to receive updates on any new developments from the group.

The band was truly unique when journalist James McMahon referred to them as a “star shape in a square hole” in a blog for NME, reflecting on the group’s memorable moments in their career, including an interview with Mojo magazine in which they compared themselves to The Beatles before their iconic Shea Stadium concert and the incident of losing their costumes worth 4,000 pounds that they wore on stage.

Despite their challenges, bands like Radiohead and Oasis were huge fans, and Oasis even selected them as their opening act during concerts in 2001.

Following the band’s split in 2004, Mason pursued a solo project under the name King Biscuit Time, along with other ventures like Black Affair and Good Face. In 2010, he released his first solo LP titled “Boys Outing.”

Other members from Beta -Group, including Robin Jones and John McClin, formed a group called Aliens, while Richard Grinry created his own band named General and Duchess of Collins.
