Benson Boon Reflects on Opening for Taylor Swift
Benson Boon shared his thoughts on the experience of opening for Taylor Swift at the Wembley London stadium during her tour by era, revealing that he was not initially familiar with her work (one of the few people globally who could make such a statement – Ed).
Preparation for the Support Slot
In a recent interview with Katya Stone, Boon discussed how he prepared for his support role after receiving the invitation. “I didn’t know much about her,” Boon mentioned. “Her team reached out to me, and I was literally like, ‘Oh my gosh!’ I couldn’t believe it. It was overwhelming, so I started to listen to her music more. I didn’t want to attend this show without knowing anything.”
The experience left a lasting impression on the artist, who has since become a fan of Swift. “She is an incredible performer and has developed an unmatched world around her,” he explained. “Witnessing the enormity of her show is astounding, with countless moving parts behind the scenes that remain unseen. She is truly one of a kind—a genuinely kind person. I was privileged to spend some time talking to her.”
“She even shouted to me on stage, which was something I never expected,” Boon continued. “That moment changed my perspective on many aspects of my career, including how I treat people and my team, observing how she interacts with others. There are people who don’t like Taylor Swift. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but if someone has something against her without knowing her, I don’t think that’s fair.”
Boon performed his song “Beautiful Things” at the 2025 Grammy Awards, where he was nominated for Best New Artist. The single reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100.
