New Album Announcement
Larsen Bells has announced a new album, “Virgin Time”, set to release on April 25 through Royal Mountain Records.
Collaborative Effort
This new entry showcases Larsen’s collaboration with longtime friend Georgia Harmer on vocal arrangements, forging a distinctive approach that reflects both his voice before and after transitioning. The album was intentionally recorded in phases, with the initial tracks laid down in 2022 before Larsen began testosterone treatment, followed by additional vocals recorded after his voice changed.
“Many stories about adulthood are equipped with dichotomies before and after, without a merger,” Larsen explains. “For the purposes of the ‘Erosion of Time,’ I did not want to choose between showcasing my past or my present. I believe that through the creation of this album—and myself—I aimed to embrace the change and hold on to the older versions of myself as I continue to grow.”
The lead single from the album, ‘514-415’, arrives with a video directed by The Boy is Surprised. “’514-415′ reflects on long-distance relationships, where one suspects that circumstances prevent things from working out, yet still cares deeply for the person involved,” Bells shares. “It is particularly meaningful to accompany someone through various chapters of their life and yours, especially when those chapters involve significant changes, like moving cities or transitioning (this song speaks to both).”
This record follows Larsen’s debut album, “Good Grief”, released in 2022.
