Barry does not swim; however, he has returned with a new project, highlighting the first preliminary viewing of the upcoming work from Scottish electronics.

Debut Album Success

Barry’s journey continues as Joshua Mainnie debuted with his album “When will we land?” released in October 2023, reaching the 12th spot on the official UK albums chart. By September 2024, this album earned him a nomination for the Mercury Award, placing him among esteemed British electronic solo artists such as Aphex Twin, Nia Archives, Burial, Jamie XX, Fred Again, and John Hopkins.

New Releases and Accolades

Following the success of his debut album, Mainnie unveiled “Still Riding,” which features a model from Kali Uchis’ single “Ridin Round” (2015). This track, part of his live sets since 2022, became available on streaming platforms two years later. Its achievements also include a nomination for the Brit Awards 2024 and a spot in the Short List for the Scottish Album of the Year Awards.
