Babymetal Collaborates with Poppy

Babymetal has just unveiled a new single featuring Poppy—listen to “from me to you” below.

Upcoming Album Release

The track will be featured on Babymetal’s fifth studio album, titled Kawaii, set to be released on June 13 through Capitol Records (Pre-order it here).

In describing their bright new single, the group stated that “from me to you” is a “Kawaii metal song birthed from the collaboration between Babymetal and Poppy.”

They mentioned: “Listen to Poppy’s screams and see Babymetal dance in Neo Tokyo!”

Poppy expressed her excitement by saying: “I have been a fan of Babymetal for many years, and I’m thrilled that this song is finally here! They have inspired me so much; enjoy ‘from me to you!’”

The single comes along with an official high-concept video featuring Poppy. It showcases Babymetal presenting their unique choreography in a “futuristic world, teetering on the brink of destruction.”

Towards the end of the video, Poppy undergoes a dramatic transformation into a dragon amidst flames and chaos as Babymetal performs in response to the disaster. Get ready for the experience!

The upcoming album, Metal Forth, will also feature collaborations with artists such as SpiritBox, Tom Morello, Bloodywood, Polyphia, and Killswitch Engage. This release follows their 2023 album, Other.

Babymetal is set to embark on a British and European tour in May, kicking off at the Brussels Forest National Arena. The tour will culminate in a major performance at London’s O2 Arena on May 30. Poppy will be joining them on this tour, alongside Bambi Tug. Find remaining tickets here (UK) and here (Europe).

Last summer, I had the chance to see Babymetal perform on the main stage at Festival 2024. In a behind-the-scenes interview with NME, the group noted that they aim to stay true to their roots in their upcoming performances.

“You know what? We haven’t changed at all,” Su-metal recalled while reflecting on the group’s journey ten years after their debut studio album.

“We have always been Babymetal, which is who we are, and we still have a long way to go. (Being here now) is all thanks to everyone who supported us, including our fans, the media, staff, and all the other bands we met along the way.”

In 2024, Poppy collaborated with Nokka on the joint song “Supcote.” This track was nominated for Best Metal Performance at the Grammy Awards 2025 but ultimately lost to Gojira’s “Mea Culpa.”
