Azealia Banks Challenges Glastonbury Lineup: “Which World Was It Displayed in 1975, Surpassing Franz Ferdinand?”

Azealia Banks Critiques Glastonbury Lineup

Azealia Banks went to X to clap Glastonbury, stating that the festival is “kind of cooked.”

Festival Lineup for 2025

Earlier this month, Glastonbury announced its lineup for 2025, featuring Nile Yang, 1975, and Olivia Rodrigo alongside other acts like Charli XCX, Biffy Clyro, and Noah Kahan.

The festival will return to Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset, from June 25 to 29 – with many more names expected to be revealed in the coming months.

Now, Banks has shared her thoughts on Glastonbury’s lineup this year, criticizing some choices and making comparisons between artists that, in her opinion, should not be included in the lineup.

“In what world is 1975 above Franz Ferdinand and Libertines in England?” the post begins. “In what world is Charli XCX above Deftones? Spig is higher than Pink Panther? In the UK????”

She then questioned the absence of well-known names like Central CEE, Honey Dijon, Basement Jaxx, and Shygirl. Read her full post below.

The first batch of general admission tickets for Glastonbury 2025 sold out in just 35 minutes on November 15, following the sale of coach/ticket packages three days earlier. This year, the organizers introduced a new online queue for ticket purchases that customers found helpful.

Last year, Glastonbury featured headliners such as Coldplay, Dua Lipa, and SZA, alongside standout performances from artists like Idles, Fontaines DC, Kneecap, Seventeen, The National, Justice, and LCD Soundsystem.

Emily Eavis recently confirmed that the festival will have a fallow year in 2026 to “give the land a rest.” This means Glastonbury will return in 2027 after a one-year break.

In other news related to Azealia, she threatened to sue Matti Hili from 1975 in December 2024 after a disagreement over comments made regarding her and frontman Charlie XCX’s team.

During a heated exchange, Hili threatened physical violence against Banks. He later deleted the post and apologized, stating: “I really crawled myself.”
