Avicii’s Employee Sandro Kavatsza Claims He Did Not Approve Release of “Forever Yours”: “I Will Not Release Any Songs Without Being Present”

Sandro Kavatsza’s Reaction

Sandro Kavatsza, known for his association with the late Avicii, expressed his disapproval of the recent release of “Forever Yours.”

Details on the Release

The new version of the late producer, whose real name was Tim Bergling, originally a 2016 track, was made available on February 14. However, Kavatsza took to his official Instagram account to convey his dissatisfaction regarding the release.

“To clarify everything, I did not agree to release it as a single. I only consented to the demo version of Tim’s ‘Forever Yours’ as part of the complete album release during the live airing of Tim, but since this album hasn’t been released as of today and is being presented as a single featuring me, I feel the need to speak up,” Kavatzza’s post began.

He further stated: “The family and representatives of Pinguettes asked me to release the unjustifiable material I had created with Tim, and I continuously refused. Many of you may wonder why these songs have never been released, and the truth is that I do not want to put out any of these tracks without him being here.”

“He was the only one who knew when his songs were finished, and I do, and will continue to, respect that. Therefore, I would like Pinguettes, Per Sundin, and Tim’s family to also respect this decision and to reconsider how best to honor Tim’s memory, because I do not believe this is it.”

‘Forever Yours – Ibiza’s version’ from 2016 came shortly after it was showcased in the latest Avicii documentary on Netflix titled I’m Tim and My Last Show. Back in 2020, Kavazza collaborated with Kygo to release a separate tribute version of “Forever Yours”.

Avicii passed away in 2018 at the young age of 28. The Swedish DJ and producer became a leading figure in the EDM scene during the 2010s. Following his death, a statement was released by his family that confirmed he had taken his own life.

“Our beloved Tim was a seeker, a fragile artistic soul searching for answers to existential questions,” they wrote. “He was an excessive perfectionist who traveled and worked tirelessly at a pace that resulted in immense stress. Once he stopped touring, he aimed to find balance in his life to be happy and do what he loved most – music.”

“He continually battled with thoughts surrounding meaning, life, and happiness. He could no longer cope. He sought to discover the world. Tim was not made for the business machine in which he found himself; he was a sensitive individual who adored his fans yet shunned the limelight. Tim, we love you forever and, unfortunately, that wasn’t enough. The person you were and your music will always keep your memory alive.”
