Launch of ARK Application
Los Angeles-based technological startup Creative Covenant Inc. has introduced ARK, a new application designed to safeguard intellectual property rights for “human creators” across various industries.
Blockchain Technology for Creators
The platform leverages blockchain technology and biometric testing to assist artists, writers, musicians, and other creators in navigating the digital landscape, as stated in the press release.
The startup secured funding from the venture capital firm Claritas Capital and the rights execution organization Imt, which has also formed a strategic partnership with the platform.
As part of this collaboration, Imt intends to provide its members with exclusive access to ARK this summer through the recently launched Spark program, which offers resources and tools for music creators.
Founded by songwriter Jamie Hartman and screenwriter Ed Bennett-Coles, Creative Covenant has been developing ARK over the past two years, with mobile versions set for a soft launch for iPhone and Android earlier this year.
Currently, the company is working on a desktop application and plans to implement a subscription model this summer.
Empowering Creators
“ARK is not just a tool – it’s a movement. We provide human creators with the instruments they need to protect their work, defend their rights, and build stable careers in industries where IP protection is often overlooked or underdeveloped,” Bennett stated.

Hartman, a four-time recipient of the BMI Award and a former IVOR NOVELLO Songwriter of the Year, emphasized Creative Covenant’s commitment to safeguarding human creativity.
He remarked, “Our mission is simple: to ensure that the next generation of songs and all creators can thrive and be rewarded for their ingenuity and hard work, safeguarding existing human intellectual property and the seeds of innovation for future generations.”
ARK comes equipped with features designed to protect creators’ rights, including secure non-disclosure agreements, intellectual property tracking, blockchain-based verification, and biometric security measures. Creative Covenant asserts that these features will allow creators to secure their rights without needing technical expertise.

The launch of ARK comes amid rising concerns about the influence of AI on artists, particularly as AI-generated content becomes increasingly sophisticated and worries about ownership, attribution, and compensation grow.
Several lawsuits have already been filed against artificial intelligence companies for the alleged unauthorized use of artists’ intellectual property.
Lucas Keller, President of Talent Management at Milk & Honey Music + Sports and a facilitator of the partnership with BMI, stated: “ARK ensures our clients that their work is protected. The amount of music released weekly in two years and the volume created by AAAA is far beyond what most people comprehend. I firmly believe that ARK addresses the human contribution to art and the defense of our intellectual property.”
Creative Covenant notes that Harvard Business School has recognized the significance of ARK technology as a compelling business case.
ARK is a part of the competitive landscape of IP management solutions. The IP software management market was estimated at $12.30 billion in 2024 and is projected to grow at a CAGR of 12.9% from 2025 to 2030, according to Grand View Research.
