The Canadian indie rock band has sparked fan speculation recently by making bold changes to their social media pages. On Instagram, this involved deleting all previous posts and uploading a new profile picture, a biography, and a link to a website.
Mysterious Changes on Instagram
Currently, their page features a new, vibrant pink cover design that includes a simple illustration resembling closed eyes. The biography contains an intriguing message: “This is the year of the snake, so let your heart break,” along with a new link that directs fans to a website adorned with the same pink artwork.
While the specifics of any forthcoming announcements from the band remain unclear, it’s noteworthy that this approach mirrors their tactics from three years ago. In 2022, the group similarly wiped their Instagram account and updated their profile artwork ahead of the reveal of their sixth studio album “We.”
Fans with sharp eyes have begun to notice the number of messages shared by the band across their stories, prompting many to speculate about what might be upcoming. These stories showcased images of band members, fans, nature, and more, all featuring the same vivid pink hue as their new artwork.
“I’m trying to figure out what I’m looking at,” one fan commented on Reddit, while another added: “This is a victory, since they were dressed yesterday. If they just shot a music video, we won’t see it in the next few days.”
“Circle of Trust, 99% are sure this is the name of the album. So excited,” another fan shared, while someone else remarked: “It would be great if they released a full album this time. I can’t imagine they expect anything but negativity in the media surrounding new singles and the upcoming album. A surprise feels slightly different from them.”

This is not the first instance in 2025 where the group has prompted fans to speculate on potential new campaign deployments.
Earlier this year, frontman Win Butler collaborated with David Byrne and St. Vincent for a rendition of David Bowie’s “Heroes” during the 50th-anniversary celebration of Saturday Night Live. The group also announced a one-time performance at High Water in South Carolina, scheduled for next month.
Additionally, last spring, Butler, Régine Chassagne, Richard Reed Parry, Tim Kingsbury, and Jeremy Gara announced several shows to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their 2004 album, Funeral.
If these online teasers lead to a new album from Arcade Fire, it would mark their first release since “We” in 2022.
It will also be their first new record following allegations of sexual misconduct against Win Butler. Four individuals accused the singer of inappropriate behavior, which resulted in him cutting the “We” tour short.
Butler responded to the allegations in a statement, expressing regret for anyone he may have offended while maintaining that “all these relationships were consensual.”
