Amy Taylor from Amil and Snanilor welcomed Chappella Roan and Charlie XCX.

Insights on Pop Music

Speaking in a recent interview with The magazine of the Los -ANGELES in anticipation of her group’s performance at Coachella 2025 tomorrow (April 13), Taylor shared her thoughts on pop music: “I love pop music. I think, especially right now, there are so many fascinating elements, like Chappell Roan and Charlie XCX. They are huge in pop, but they also push so many boundaries—for example, Charli XCX has lyrics that are super strict yet laid-back.”

She added: “Currently, pop is in a really intriguing space. As we said, the world is quite chaotic, and it’s a strange situation, if not more than that. Sometimes, engaging with pop music feels like a sort of relief. It’s akin to watching TV, but more like tuning into Simpsons.

When asked about Charlie and Lady Gaga, who are both performing at Coachella, Taylor commented: “She (Charlie) is a certified star in mainstream pop music. I feel like they both have that rocker and punk edge.”
