Update on A$AP Rocky’s Album
A$AP Rocky has shared an update regarding the progress of his highly anticipated fourth album following his recent legal troubles.
Initially slated for release in August of last year, the album—recorded during the “Testing” sessions in 2018—has faced delays, pushing its release date to the fall of 2024 without any promises of realization.
On February 28, the rapper disclosed some information to GQ, stating, “I’m in the mix and have taken control of this.”
“Honestly, I think people are getting tired of hearing album updates,” he remarked. “They are just ready to experience the music, you know? I don’t believe anyone wants to keep hearing about where I stand with this or how far along I am.”

“They just want to hear some music and see where I am at, and I promise there’s new material in store. I’m challenging myself and approaching this with a different strategy, style, or grace,” he added.
“I’ve finished the album,” he continued. “I just want to release it. I don’t want to keep saying what I plan to do; I want to deliver what I’ve promised to the people.”
Rocky’s album update follows a recent ruling where he was found not guilty in a trial regarding his involvement in a shooting incident from 2021. After nearly a month of proceedings in Los Angeles, the jury cleared him of all charges related to allegedly shooting his former friend A$AP Relli.
Rocky was facing a potential sentence of 24 years after rejecting a plea deal that would have resulted in a 180-day prison sentence.
During the trial, his partner Rihanna showed support by appearing in court, and by the trial’s conclusion, they brought their children, which led to speculation from his lawyer that it was a “strategy” to elicit sympathy from the jury.
Upon receiving the not guilty verdict, Rocky leapt over the court railing to embrace Rihanna and his family, regaining his composure shortly after. He expressed gratitude to the jury, stating they “saved my life” and affirmed that they “made the right decision.”
In an Instagram story, Rihanna shared her thoughts on the verdict: “Glory belongs to God! Grateful and humbled by His mercy! 🙏🏿.”
Reflecting on his recent triumph, the artist expressed that he felt “blessed” and “happy,” emphasizing the relief after experiencing the possibility of losing his freedom.
Meanwhile, the individual who accused the rapper of shooting plans to pursue a civil lawsuit despite the court’s decision of innocence earlier this month.
