Paddle Wes Simadlin Madda Claims He Was the ‘Roof’ of Former Band Bandy Before Catastrophic Concert

Concert Controversy

Wes Scantlin from Puddle of Mudd alleged that his former bandmate from the band had a disastrous experience at a concert over the weekend during the cycling week in Deuton.

Event Details

On Saturday (March 1), in Florida, as part of the Slof-Salon event, a rock band performed at the Broken Spoke exhibition. The show was free, but band members signed a guitar for an auction, which was later purchased by a merchant who paid $5,000 for the instrument. The proceeds will support children’s cancer research.

However, according to Loud, attendees reported several issues during the performance, ranging from poor sound quality to Scantlin’s unsteady presence on stage, which appeared shaky as he stumbled and seemed incoherent.

Despite this, Scantlin claims he was “set up” by his former bandmate, bassist Sean Sammon. The following day, a fan approached Scantlin to inquire about the show, and their interaction was captured and posted on Facebook. “I suck, I suck, and suck… But I was covered,” he stated in the video.

“My old bassist Sean Sammon set me up last night so that he could screw me over,” Scantlin continued. He then gave a double middle finger to the camera, walked away, only to return and do so again.

NME reached out to Sammon for a comment.

Audience Reactions

Some attendees of the Puddle of Mudd concert expressed disappointment in the performance, leaving largely negative comments under a social media post from the venue. “I’m so glad it was a free show,” one commenter wrote. “I would have been furious if I had paid to see this terrible performance.”

Last year, Scantlin was arrested and pepper-sprayed following an altercation with the police. He had previously been arrested in 2017 for allegedly attempting to board a flight with a firearm.

In related news, Scantlin admitted that Puddle of Mudd’s infamous Nirvana cover “looked and sounded like complete shit.”
