Dean passed away on Monday (March 3) in Nashville, as confirmed by Parton’s social media accounts. Reports indicate that Dean will be laid to rest in a private ceremony attended by close family.

Parton expressed her grief in a brief statement: “Karl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words cannot adequately tribute to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy.”
