MF Doom Notebooks Returned
MF Doom’s handwritten notebooks have been returned to his widow, bringing an end to the dispute between his widow, Jasmine Dumil Thompson, and his former A&R, Eothen “Egon” Alapatt.
Lawsuit and Resolution
In 2023, Thompson initiated a lawsuit against the former A&R, alleging copyright violations, fraud, willful distortion, and unjust enrichment. The complaint was filed alongside Gas Drawings LLC, which manages the intellectual property of the late rapper. This legal action arose shortly after Doom’s passing in 2020 when Alapatt received a number of DOOM’s manuscript records.
Now that the dispute has been resolved, the laptops have been returned to Thompson. The official Instagram account of MF Doom, managed by his estate, announced this development—each party has issued a statement regarding the matter.
