Oscars of 2025 paid tribute James Bond Franchise with performances by Doja Cat, Blackpink’s Lisa, Raye and the appearance of Margaret Qualley.

Segment organized by Halle Berry, which heads 2002 Die Another Day After the news that the franchise will now be controlled by Amazon after acquiring it from the old producers Michael J. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli will now be controlled by the Pierce Brosnan.

The new joint venture between the two parties sees that both have intellectual property rights, since creative control is transferred to Amazon MGM Studios as part of the transaction, and both parties retain ownership. There was no official announcement of the next film by James Bond, and the last of which was the farewell of Daniel Craig in 2021 There Is No Time to Die.

Segment start with a dance sequence with the participation of Qualley, before many performances covering various Bond themes.

Before the ceremony, Berry had her own moment – recreating her insignificantly known Oscar’s moment in 2003 with Adrien Brody, in which the actor kissed her spontaneously when he went on stage to take his award for Best Actor.

The acquisition of the James Bond franchise was met with sharp criticism from fans, with some claiming, “this is clearly the end of the franchise for long-standing fans of Bond.”

This year, the award ceremony is held tonight (March 2), with comedian Conan O’Brien taking the reins as host.

Emilia Perez leads the nominations this year with 13 nods, while Brutalist and Wicked follow behind with 10 nods each. The papal thriller Conclave and the biographical film about Bob Dylan, Full Unknown, both received eight nods, while Anora follows with six nods.
