Kanye West Requests Jewelers to Create a Swastika-Inspired Design Network

Kanye West’s Controversial Designs

Kanye West has requested that jewelry designers create a swastika-themed network for him.

On Thursday (February 27), the rapper took to Twitter/X to announce: “For all jewelers, I am looking for the design of the Swastika network,” along with an animated video depicting a swastika that is obscured.

Backlash and Social Media Reactions

On February 28, he followed up with additional posts, emphasizing his reaction to an attempted merchandise sale featuring the controversial symbol.

In one of his posts, he remarked that while some rappers boast about their violent pasts, “they are afraid to wear a swastika T-shirt,” as reported by Billboard. He expressed his aspiration to publicly wear a T-shirt emblazoned with a swastika.

Last month, West first faced scrutiny for selling a white T-shirt featuring a prominent swastika symbol, labeled as “HH-01” on his website, with an accompanying link to a song titled “Heil Hitler.”

Eventually, Shopify removed the item from its platform, asserting that it was due to potential fraud, not specifically because of the swastika T-shirt. The company condemned the symbol, labeling it as “vile, disgusting, and unforgivable.”

West later took to X (previously Twitter) to assert that he had been contemplating a T-shirt with this design for over eight years. This was accompanied by a series of confusing statements in which he reached out to the Jewish community regarding his past anti-Semitic comments, while also controversially declaring himself a “Nazi” and expressing admiration for Hitler, alongside praise for Elon Musk as “the most personal person who was ever on Twitter.”

Despite later claiming that he no longer identified as a Nazi after reflecting on these matters, just days later he shared more content about swastika-themed clothing on his X page.

Kanye West was later reinstated to the platform, claiming his recent behavior was influenced by a “90 percent Jewish” perspective and alluding to his past notorious anti-Semitic outbursts, where he suggested that the Jewish community should “forgive Hitler” for the Holocaust, for which he apologized in 2023.

In February, he also made headlines by declaring “dominion” over his wife Bianca Tsenkori after they attended the Grammy red carpet event, during which she wore a sheer dress that revealed her body. Additionally, he tweeted in support of Didi and Chris Brown, calling for Brown’s release from prison amidst sexual assault allegations.

Following these controversial posts, Kanye West’s former employee condemned his incendiary rhetoric, and public figures like Charlie Puth urged him to stop promoting “incredibly dangerous” messages. David Schwimmer, a star of Friends, criticized the hate-filled “Nazi” posts, asserting that silence against such rhetoric is complicity.

In another development, a former Yeezy employee filed a lawsuit for discrimination, citing instances of “Hail Hitler” text messages directed towards a Jewish colleague.
