Hot Milk Reveals New Album ‘Corporation Pop’ Accompanied by Exclusive Video Featuring Frank Skinner

Hot Milk Releases New Album

Hot Milk has announced their second album, 'Corporation Pop', slated for release on June 27 through Music for Nations. Alongside the announcement, the band shared a new single, '90 Seconds to Midnight', featuring a video with Frank Skinner.

Insights on the New Single

Vocalist Khan Mi describes the new single: “As the day approaches midnight, this wild song sets the tone for the impending nuclear winter. We aimed to deliver a punch with these audacious riffs, relentlessly keeping you engaged. Lyrically, we drew from 17th-century philosopher Rousseau and poet John Betjeman’s piece ‘Slough’. Rousseau expressed that humanity remains in bondage to its own creations. In this case, we crafted our own demise, while Betjeman humorously embraces this notion of death, inviting the nuclear threat to ‘Come Friendly Bombs’… Let’s ignite the fluff and start anew.”

Recording and Themes of the New Album

The new album was produced by Jim Shaw, Zaku Jones, and K.J. Banner, recorded between the band’s flat in Salford and their living room in Los Angeles. Jim Shaw states: “Corporation Pop is a whirlwind of thoughts, emotions, and scars reflecting on where we stand now in England and the future of the Western world. This record narrates our experience, living in contrasts of remote places and then facing the stark reality of returning home to Salford. It’s challenging not to draw comparisons and seek understanding. Pop = Payment of pain. We all must carry the weight of modernity, and that pain is something we all must confront.”
