The group, also known for their work as 5ive, initially formed in 1997 and was signed by Simon Cowell and BMG/RCA. Their first major success was “Slam Dunk (Da Funk),” which reached the Top 10 in the UK Singles Chart.
As noted by Independent, the group has reunited several times throughout the years but has never performed with all original members until now.
The reunion news broke earlier this week when Abz Love shared on social media that he was rejoining the lineup. “Today I’m back with @itsfiveOfficial. Thanks to all the fans for your support, I love you all,” he posted.
His Twitter update mirrored his announcement over ten years ago when, in 2014, he announced his departure from the group. “Today, I am no longer a member of @itsfiveOfficial. Thanks to all the fans who supported us, I love you all,” he stated back then.
In 2022, three of the original members – Neville, Robinson, and Conlon – participated in an interview for NME regarding Rock ‘N’ Roll Kills BrainCells?!, reminiscing about their time with the band and sharing some of their most memorable moments. Check it out here.
