Sam Fender Hints at a “Slightly More Triangular” Direction with Unreleased Demos in Promotion of New Album “People Watch”

Sam Fender’s New Music Plans

Sam Fender has unveiled his intentions for new music, expressing that he “desperately needs” to create a record influenced by punk in the future.

Insights on Upcoming Projects

The artist behind the song “North Shields,” who released his third album “People Watch” on February 21, shared that he has a wealth of demos ready for future projects. Speaking to The Sunday Times, Fender eagerly revealed unreleased material from his phone, including tracks titled “Drugs” and “Hornsby,” the latter being inspired by American singer Bruce Hornsby.

“Do you want to hear? This is what life gives me,” Fender mentioned during the interview. “I’m buzzing! I just sing on you!”

In another discussion with Zeyn Low on Apple Music 1, Fender spoke about his collaboration with Adam Granduciel from War on Drugs on “People Who Look” and their future release plans. “All this happened very quickly, and this is always a great sign for me,” he explained. “I feel that if everything moves fast, then you know that this is happening. As soon as this is done, it’s like wiping a hard drive in your head. And now I’m ready to do one more. I just want to return to the studio, to be honest. I already have many new songs.”

Directions for Upcoming Material

Fender also outlined two potential paths for his upcoming work: “There are two ways that I have right now on the way. I have a real batch of melodies that I really could not build. They should just be independent. And then the other side is a little more trash. So I think about two records at the same time. There is part of us that really craves maybe this small solo tour, only with acoustics, to see what it looks like.”
