Celebrating Upcoming Album Release

He shared today (February 24) that the new track celebrates the last preliminary viewing of the upcoming album by the Dreams on Toast group. Set for release on March 28, it is available for pre-order here. The singles already visible in the recording include “The Longest Kiss”, “Cowboy – Rok – N – Roll”, and “I Hate Myself”.

Now Justin Hawkins and Co. have shown another corner of the upcoming release, dropping the dynamic new single “Walk Around the Fire”. With this track, the group hones in on the sound of cult rock icons from the 70s and combines it with modern production, massive riffs, and witty lyrics.

Reflecting on the inspiration for the single, the frontman stated: “The artist’s life is an exhausting effort, welded with rare moments of brilliant success. Every day we go through sweet molasses to do things that others love.

“For those few we chose, it’s akin to climbing a mountain for a magnificent view, all while diligently avoiding your eyes on the discarded condom that has attached itself to our stylish, yet practical walking shoes,” he added. “To paraphrase less inclined tones, nothing worthwhile is ever easy, and that is why we, The Darkness, go through the fire … thinking about you.”

As for the record as a whole, “Dreams of Toast” is produced by Dan Hawkins and is described in the new press release as “impeccably reflecting The Darkness at their peak, celebrating their influence and amplifying their sound, while also venturing in ways never before heard from the group.”

Next month, The Darkness plans to kick off their UK tour, beginning at the Ipswich Regent Theater and concluding with a concert at the Ovo Arena Wembley in London on March 29. Find remaining tickets for the tour here.

Later, the band will head to several shows across Europe, and this summer they will return to the UK for a slot at Festival Festival 2025.

In other news, Hawkins recently contributed to the first new Stylistics album in nearly two decades, working on the opening and title track “Fent to My Girl.” Other collaborators on the record include Ronnie Wood from The Rolling Stones, Billy F. Gibbons from ZZ Top, Kiss’ Gene Simmons, and Steve Lukather from Toto.
