Speaking about the track, Moriono expressed: “I hate this,” capturing the emotions of jealousy, loathing, and obsession that anyone can experience when yearning for the unattainable. ”
“I’m so incredibly excited for this album to finally be out. From the moment I conceived it, I’ve been bursting with energy, eager to share it. It’s filled with vulnerability, playful chaos, despair, parties, and an ocean of salt water. The world is my oyster, and soon it will be yours too!”
“Hate it” follows her previous single “Shoreline,” and the album features contributions from co-writers and producers, including John Summerfield (Holly Humberstone, Tommy Lefroy) and Chloe Kramer (Japanese House).

Moriono’s last album, released in 2022, received four stars from NME, which highlighted: “Despite dialing AMPS up to 11 and presenting an album with a reckless abandon, ‘SuckerPunch’ never loses the sense of vulnerability that made Moriono such an appealing star in the first place. It’s a musical tapestry filled with ‘Hearteyes,’ offering an unfiltered stream of consciousness about navigating the tangles of love while grappling with jealousy, grand gestures, and a shadow of self-doubt.”
Recently, Moriono was featured as one of the artists in Bose X NME: C23, with her song “Killbot” showcased on the platform.
