Song Details
Opening with the sound of an answering machine, Gomez expresses her emotions through the lyrics: “Call me when you part / I want to be the first when you wake up / I miss the way we have been trapped / We will speak forever when I take my makeup,” pleading with her former lover to reach out as they exit their current relationship.
Abrams chimes in with poetic lines alongside Gomez, singing: “Call me when you part / I can’t be,” revealing her own breakup that left her feeling abandoned.

In the music video, Gomez and Abrams perform the track from a bed while being filmed vertically, creating an intimate video feel, with Blanco making an appearance towards the end.
“Call Me When You Part” not only represents the first collaboration of this trio but also marks the second partnership between Abrams and Blanco, who previously worked together on the 2021 track “Disabling.” This new single is part of their upcoming joint album, “I Said That I Love You FIRST,” set to be released on March 21 – You can check it out and pre-order the album here. The lead single, “Scarecrow to Love You,” debuted on Valentine’s Day.
“I Said That I Love You FIRST” will chronicle Gomez and her fiancé Blanco’s “Love Story,” as they have collaborated on several of her hit songs since “Same Old Love” in 2015. The couple confirmed their romantic relationship in December 2023, with Gomez confirming she had been dating the producer for about six months. They announced their engagement in December 2024.
Recently, Gomez expressed her thoughts about keeping music alive in her life, mentioning her collaboration with actress Saoirse Ronan. She believes she may be “too old for the life of pop stars,” but music remains integral to her life, especially with her partner being a musician, providing enjoyable moments.
Prior to this, she indicated that while her music career isn’t over, she desires to focus more on acting, as it allows her to tell other people’s stories instead of her own through music.

When probed about her next album, Gomez replied: “Well, if I had one, I would like to talk about it. I think it’s been quite nice to focus on this side of the game. Let’s see, you never know.” – read a complete conversation with Gomez and Saldana NME here.
