The Horrors have unveiled a new single titled “Ariel” – you can listen to it below.
About the Song
This atmospheric and introspective track serves as a preview for the group’s sixth studio album, Night Life, which is set to be released on March 21 (Pre-order here).
“Ariel” is a uniquely special piece and a favorite among the band, as Faris Badwan and the others shared about this haunting melody. “This is probably unlike any song we’ve written before, and it feels like a celebration of a new chapter,” he explained.
They continued: “We always strive to explore new sonic territories and discover fresh ways to express our sound, which is what we cherish most about The Horrors.”
The band further revealed that “Ariel” was a significant studio creation, adding: “We laid down a heavy demo at home and began refining it into something more nuanced at Holy Mountain (studio) with Yves (Rotman, producer).”

“Ariel” is accompanied by an official music video, directed by Sarah Piantadosi. The dark and textured visuals feature frontman Badwan in a desolate forest, traversing a snow-covered road. Tune in now.
The single follows the previously released songs “More Than Life”, “Lotus Eater”, “Court of Fire”, and “Silence That Remains” from the upcoming album.
Following the release of “V” in 2017, the upcoming LP has been recently dubbed one of NME’s most anticipated albums of 2025.
This record marks the first time all five original members are not participating together: while vocalist Faris Badwan, bassist Rhys Webb, and guitarist Joshua Hayward are involved, they have added Amelia Kidd on keys and Jordan Cook on drums.
The Horrors are set to perform a series of intimate shows in British stores next month, and they will also appear at the Dot to Dot Festival in Bristol and Nottingham in May.
