K-Pop Powerhouse Hybe Partners with Ryan Tedder to Launch New Boy Band

The South Korean entertainment giant Hyb has teamed up with ONEREPUBLIC frontman Ryan Tedder to launch a new boy band.

Announced on February 20, this project will kick off with a worldwide search for talent. The project is being led by Hybe chairman Bang Si-Hyuk, Hybe America General Director Scooter Braun, and Ryan Tedder. Billboard reports that the training program will combine Hybe’s K-Pop development approach with Tedder’s creative direction, starting in Los Angeles once the group members are selected.

Tedder has a proven track record with Hybe, having collaborated with various acts including the American girl group Katseye for their debut, the Japanese group Dropkick, and the Korean boy band TXT for “Back for More.” This new boy band initiative follows the successful debut of Katseye in partnership with Geffen Records last year.

“Hybe artists consistently achieve impressive global milestones, dominating charts year after year,” the statement noted. “Especially with Katseye, we proved that our K-Pop methodology works well in the US market. The launch of this new boy band in collaboration with Ryan Tedder will be another milestone in our legacy in the music industry.”

Meanwhile, Tedder expressed excitement about partnering with Hybe on this new venture. He stated, “Bang and his team have proven to be exceptional creators who connect with fans, and we aim to build a group that is the most fan-oriented on Earth with outstanding music.”

Application Process for Talents

Applications for auditions are now open to individuals of all nationalities aged 13 to 23 years. Applications will be accepted throughout the upcoming year, and candidates are required to submit a portfolio that includes photographs, a performance video, and a personal introduction.
