Details on the Upcoming Album
The British artist Roker is set to release his third album, “People Watching,” tomorrow (February 21). The project includes four tracks: “Remember My Name,” “Hand Length,” “Wild Long Lie,” and the title track.
While appearing as a guest on Apple Music 1‘s Zane Lowe Show, Fender shared insights about collaborating with Adam Granduciel from War on Drugs and revealed that he is already working on the next project.
Reflecting on his experience with Granduciel, Fender said: “It was an honor. I mean, he was one of my biggest heroes. The first time I heard ‘Lost in a Dream’, I was already quite sick at that time and spent some time in the hospital, and throughout my recovery, that album was the only thing I listened to. His music still means a lot to me. It was surreal working with him, but I had to give it a shot, knowing he had never produced anything outside of War on Drugs.
Future Plans and Tour Dates
He continued: “We have a saying in the North-east: ‘Shy bairns get nowt,’ which means shy children get nothing. I said, ‘I just have to take the initiative and see if he’ll be interested.’ So, I reached out to the label, got in touch, and said, ‘Listen, I want to work with him.’ We found out that we listen to many of the same artists, including Tom Petty, The Replacements, Springsteen, Dylan, and the Waterboys.
“It quickly became evident that everything was in sync. Once we started talking, the flow was smooth, which is a strong indication that things are coming together. It felt like wiping a hard drive in my head; now I’m ready to focus on the next one. Honestly, I already have a lot of new songs prepared.”
In addition, Fender has recently announced additional dates for his upcoming summer UK stadium tour, including a performance at Wythenshawe Park in Manchester on August 16, Edinburgh Summer Sessions on August 22, and closing with a show at the Bater in Belfast as part of the Vital Series on August 28.
Supporting acts for the first two shows will be Olivia Dean, while CMAT will open the Belfast show. Visit here to buy tickets and find a complete list of UK tour dates.
The songsmith was named an official ambassador at the UK Soundup Store on April 12, 2025, and will release two new songs as part of a special EP to celebrate.
Additionally, he has been nominated for two Brit Awards at the upcoming ceremony: Artist of the Year and Alt/Rock Act.
In other news, it has been announced that Fender will headline at the Grand Prix this year with Formula 1.
