Grains Reserved for World Pride in Washington, D.C.: ‘Revitalize America’s LGBTQ+ Pride’

Grains Reaction at Dance Music Festival

Grains was booked for the Dance Music Festival World Pride festival, and the comments on social networks show an enthusiastic public reaction to her inclusion in the lineup.

Controversial Connections

The pop artist has attracted attention due to her past relationship with Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, who also leads the DOGE (Department of State Efficiency) initiative under the current administration, previously headed by President Donald Trump, who signed executive orders aimed at the protection of LGBTKEY+ citizens upon regaining power.

During the presidential inauguration of Trump on January 22, Musk faced criticism for appearing to make a Nazi salute when he hit his chest with his right hand and raised it diagonally.

Recent news claimed that Grains performed as a DJ at an inauguration party a few days ago – This was refuted by her manager in a tweet stating, “Hello, this is not true. Grains did not perform at this event. Could you share this, as it is misinformation.”

However, according to Washington Blade, Grains allegedly attended an extreme right party at Butterwort, recently described by The Washington Post as a MAGA hangout bar.

Due to her relationship with Musk and her alleged connections to the extreme right movement, fans criticized her participation in World Pride, an event celebrated by the LGBTQIA+ community. In an Instagram post shared yesterday (February 19), where Grains commented “Make America again Gay” in support of the event.

“But why Grains? Since when did a white supporter of superiority get invited to pride events?” wrote one commentator. Another questioned, “Will Grains bring Elon Musk?” Others raised the concern of her alleged DJ performance at the party: “Grains. Who is just a DJ at an alt-right inauguration party? What a lame choice for the festival.”

Hope Giselle, a transgender activist based in Washington, commented in Washington Blade: “Grimes literally has children with Elon, damn musk-rat, a person who makes us all feel small, or at least tries to. Are you all giving Grimes a platform right under the headliners? This does not make any sense.”

The festival is hosted by Jennifer Lopez, who expressed on the post, “Let’s be proud of !!!!!!” – And Troye Sivan, who is openly gay.

Trump’s executive orders included a statement that America recognizes only “two genders,” aimed particularly at the rights of transgender individuals.

“Insurance, trans, and non-binary people have existed since the dawn of time,” Garcor wrote in response to the news. “They will continue to exist, regardless of whether you choose to recognize this or not. They will exist long after the current administration has passed.”

The order will prohibit workplace requirements for transgender individuals to use pronouns corresponding to their gender. It also aims to end federal funding for initiatives related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

Last year, Musk’s daughter Vivian, who is transgender, criticized her father for claiming that she was “killed” by the “Breeded Mind virus,” denying her current gender identity. Grains supported her on Twitter, stating: “I love and am forever tastelessly proud of Vivian.”

Last week, Grains called out her former partner for parading their son Lila X around the Oval Office while Trump signed an executive order publicly.

“He shouldn’t be in public like this. I haven’t seen it, thanks for the warning. But I’m glad he is polite. Sigh.”

Before addressing the whereabouts of her son, Grains took a moment to praise New York Times journalist Ezra Klein on her X/Twitter account for his podcast that delved into Trump’s early weeks in office and the excitement surrounding it.

“Ezra Klein is a national treasure,” she began her tweet. “He brings the right people from the opposite viewpoint, and they calmly engage in a rough consensus analysis of the current situation. Politics desperately needs more of this atmosphere right now for the sake of sanity.”
