Max George’s Health Update
Max George has recently shared updates regarding his health, recounting the “failures” he encountered following his surgery.
Heart Surgery and Recovery
Back in December, the singer informed fans through social media that he was hospitalized after some tests revealed “issues” with his heart. He mentioned that he initially “felt really unhealthy” and underwent several tests, which ultimately confirmed the need for heart surgery.
He further elaborated that he had a “block 2: 1” in his heart, indicating that his heart beats more slowly or irregularly than normal. Shortly after, he underwent surgery to install a pacemaker and was discharged just in time for Christmas.
George previously revealed his fear of “dying” when he was urgently admitted to the hospital for heart-related issues. While speaking with The Sun, he recounted how he felt so convinced of his fate that he recorded messages about his assets on his phone.
“That night was quite close; it really felt like my neck was closing up, which triggered a panic. I felt like I was dying. It was the worst emotional experience,” he shared.
Recently, George took to his official Instagram to announce that he had undergone a second operation to address issues with his pacemaker wires.
“A few weeks ago, I had to return to the hospital due to some physical symptoms in my chest. It turned out that one of the leads was placed too far in my heart,” he shared in the caption of his post. “The second operation lasted about 2 hours. Thankfully, it was successful, and they kindly let me listen to Oasis the whole time!”
“It was a setback, but that’s just how it goes. Over the past few months, I’ve dealt with several complications, but I’m undergoing multiple tests to ensure everything is alright. Heart inflammation could take weeks or even months to resolve, but I’m determined to get back to my best as soon as possible! Thank you all for the wonderful messages and support during this challenging time. It means a lot,” he expressed.
In an interview with The Sun, the singer discussed his fear surrounding the need for a second surgery: “I thought I was recovering well, but when I was informed about the second operation, I became anxious about the risks involved with pulling the pacemaker wires, including potential bleeding on my heart. I had no alternative; it was necessary.”
The most recent updates on George’s health follow his prior announcement about returning to the hospital last month.
At that time, he conveyed to his followers on Instagram that he experienced unusual sensations connected to the pacemaker and sought input from fans who might have had similar experiences.
Upon being discharged from the hospital at the end of last month, George revealed he wasn’t completely in the clear, as doctors requested further investigations due to potential lung issues.
He also posted an image after his surgical procedure, indicating that the pacemaker was positioned under his brain cancer tattoo.
