Former Guitarist Don Felder Provides Update Following On-Stage Medical Emergency

Guitarist Don Felder’s Health Update

Former guitarist Orlov Don Felder shared an update with fans after recently suffering from emergency medical care on stage.

Incident During Performance

The musician is recovering after he was seen hurrying off stage following emergency medical attention during the Rock Legends cruise performance on Thursday (February 13).

A video shared by a participant through TMZ shows Felder performing the classic “Tequila Sunrise” from 1973, providing inspiration from the song that appeared on their second album, “Desperado.”

The clip captures him looking towards the side stage before losing his balance, with his crew quickly coming to his aid as the crowd offered support.

The team explained that after receiving medical care, Felder was found to be suffering from dehydration. He was administered fluids and is feeling much better.

They also mentioned that the remaining performances on Felder’s cruise have been postponed to ensure he has ample time for a complete recovery, concluding with, “Thank you for understanding and remember – drink water!”

Upcoming Performances and News

Felder performed with the Eagles from 1974 to 2001 and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the group in 1998. This news follows guitarist Stewart Smith’s departure from the band due to health issues last month.

Following Smith’s exit, the band reportedly brought in Christopher Holt as the latest addition, a decision announced last month by Idol Records.

The addition of Holt comes as the group recently featured the guitarist on stage during their residency in Las Vegas. Currently, the band is undertaking a series of career-spanning performances in their ongoing live schedule.

In other Eagles news, the band has recently extended their residency dates, confirming performances will continue until 2024 and into the spring of 2025. Visit here for tickets.

Earlier this year, the group also raised $2.5 million for FireAid, a concert benefiting victims of wildfires in Los Angeles, featuring performances by Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Joni Mitchell, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sting, Stevie Nicks, Gracie Abrams, and Green Day at the SoFi Stadium and the Kia Forum.
