PUP Unveils Fifth Album “Who Will Look After the Dogs?” Featuring New Single “Halls”

Puppy announces new album

Puppy has revealed their fifth album titled “Who will look after the dogs?” set to release on May 2 through Little Dipper / Rise Records.

New single and studio insights

The Toronto punk group has also shared a new single, “Halls,” which is the first track from the upcoming album. The recording took place in Los Angeles with producer John Congleton over the span of three weeks.

Reflecting on the album creation, frontman Stefan Babcock shared, “A few days after the announcement of our last album, coincidentally named ‘Puppy’s disclosure,’ my life suddenly exploded. I wrote the lyrics for ‘Halls’ during this chaotic time. It was a strangely intense week.”

“The title of our new album, ‘Who will look after the dogs?’, was the very first line I wrote for it. I think it portrays a sense of destruction, but there’s humor in it as well. Sometimes, we need to laugh at our darker moments as a way to cope with them.”

The album comprises twelve tracks, capturing the band’s vibrant energy in the studio, involving the full band – Nestor Chumak, Zach Mikula, and Steve Solkovsky.

Upcoming tour dates

The band will embark on a tour across the UK and Europe to support the album, featuring the band The Illuminati on all dates except for Spain, with Goo joining for the British show.
