Morrissey’s Tour Announcement

With the announcement of Morrissey’s tour in the UK and Ireland, the possibility of a date in London has been raised. Check what the vocalist said below.

Details About The Upcoming Shows

On Monday (February 10), the former Smiths frontman took to social media to share several dates for his stops in Glasgow, Manchester, and Dublin this June.

This series of shows will mark Morrissey’s only performances in Ireland, Scotland, and England in 2025. General tickets will go on sale this Friday (February 14) at 9 AM local time and will be available here.

Today (February 12), Morrissey addressed his plans for a concert in London on his official website. In his statement, he wrote: “A London concert will not be added to this mileage of Morrissey’s tour from Dublin, Glasgow, and Manchester.”

The new tour dates were announced just a week after his previous plans for a North American run of live performances set for April to May.

These performances will follow a brief series of concerts in Los Angeles scheduled for 2024 and in the North American tour planned for late October and November.

The 2025 UK dates will be the first in the country since April 2023, when he performed at the Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham, with the replacement date set for July 9.

His show originally scheduled for July 9 at the Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham was canceled, attributed to “unforeseen circumstances.”

Morrissey’s announcement for 2025 in the UK and Ireland follows updates regarding new material he has shared over the past months, particularly about his upcoming album, “Bonfire of Teenagers.”

Morrissey recorded LP from 2020 to 2021, but its release was delayed due to disputes with Capitol Records. Issues with the recording continued until 2022 when Morrissey stated he “voluntarily disengaged” from associations with Capitol Records, despite confirming the album’s release just two months prior.

Morrissey also revealed that Miley Cyrus requested the removal of her backing vocals from the track “I Am Veronica,” which they recorded back in 2020.

The singer continued to provide updates about his site regarding the status of the “Bonfire,” accusing Capitol Records of “fascism” and citing a “creeping culture of censorship.” He claimed that the label had signed him only to sabotage the project.

He further alleged that the CEO of Capitol Records attempted to disrupt his career, leading him to assert that he remains silent about the release of “Bonfire of Teenagers.”

The “Bonfire of Teenagers” is the LP that Morrissey has previously referred to as “the best album of my life,” indicating that the title track revolves around “England 9/11” – the Manchester Arena bombing in 2017.

The album’s issues persisted into 2024, when Morrissey regained the rights to two of his albums in April following a long dispute with Capitol Records, which he described as “a long, difficult, bloody war.”

In November of the previous year, he told a crowd during one of his US shows that he could not release new music due to the “freedom of speech” struggles, stating: “You cannot speak freely in England. If you don’t believe me, go there. Express your opinion, and you may be sent to prison. It is very, very difficult.”
