Robin Kester’s New Contract
Robin Kester has signed a contract with Memphis Industries and has unveiled her latest single “Disabling,” featuring backing vocals from Rozi Plain.

This new release by the Dutch artist, known for her Alt Rock style, follows her debut album of 2023 titled “Honeycomb Shades,” which was produced by Ali Canta, recognized for his collaborations with PJ Harvey, Perfume Genius, and Art Act.
Insights into the Songwriting Process
“Most of the ‘Departure’ is derived from my diary entries, reflecting on my frequent moves as a child and in my adult life, which I thought might alleviate my feelings of unhappiness,” explains Kester. “However, I realized that this physical escape didn’t truly resolve anything. When I incorporated these diary entries into my lyrics, I worried they might come across as overly transparent, leaving me feeling vulnerable, as I am typically accustomed to writing in a way that conceals my feelings beneath the texts and melodies.
