Supporting Mental Health Awareness
The NU-Metal pioneers contributed to a charity campaign aimed at preventing suicides through the charity CALM, just before taking the stage for their Andlane performance at Wembley Arena in London. The group donated £1 from each ticket sold on their “Rise of the Roach” tour, which includes several stops across Europe, Great Britain, and North America.
“The kickoff for ‘Rise of the Roach’ has been incredible,” said Papa Roach frontman Jacobi Shaddix in a press release. “CALM, along with every audience member at each tour stop, is now a vital part of our mission to ‘leave light’ for those who might need help.”
Simon Gunning, CEO of CALM, also commented on the donation, stating: “We cannot thank Papa Roach enough — and every ticket buyer — for their support. Not only did the band raise vital funds for our important work, but they also initiated a global conversation on suicide prevention.”
“By bringing these conversations out of the shadows and into the light, we break the stigma that surrounds them, and this truly saves lives. Our gratitude goes to Papa Roach and their fans for shining this light.”
Papa Roach has consistently advocated for mental health awareness.
In a previous interview with NME, Shaddix explained why this issue is so personal to them, stating: “We’ve been singing about it from the very beginning. Our first song ‘Last Resort’ was a cry for help. This has always been part of our history and my life. I’ve faced my own ups and downs and have learned how to cope. I understand the darkness, and through my music, this connects me with countless others.”

“Every day while on tour, I meet someone who tells me, ‘Your music saved my life.’ This was never our intention when we started making music, but the more I open up in my songs, the more I realize I’m not alone in my struggles.”
He added: “I sit here as proof of strength and hope, and that’s what I want to share with the world. I want to give back because fans have given us so much over the years. They’ve allowed me to pursue this dream and keep exploring myself through this music. I want to acknowledge my wounds and contribute positively.”
“I don’t want to drag people down; I want to uplift and do the right thing.”

In other news, Papa Roach has released their new single “Even If It Kills Me,” marking their first new music in three years. When discussing why the song was chosen as their first release of 2025, Shaddix mentioned: “We looked at the arc of what we’ve done recently and what we captured on ‘Ego Trip’ (2022). We wanted something that felt like a good continuation of our single ‘Leave The Light On (Conversation About Darkness),’ but we didn’t want another ballad. So this is what came out as we sought something different.”
Papa Roach will also embark on a North American tour alongside Rise Against this spring. Get your tickets here
