Ticketmaster Cancels Thousands Of Tickets
Ticketmaster has canceled thousands of tickets for OASIS reunion exhibitions this year due to measures aimed at preventing bot purchases, although numerous fans claim that their ticket cancellations were unlawful.
Compensation For Affected Fans
The ticketing company is in contact with ticket holders to provide compensation, referring to tours conditions that were violated because of identified bots. This decision follows reports indicating that approximately four percent of tickets in the UK—around 50,000—ended up on resale platforms after the initial sales in August, despite existing measures to curb such reselling.
Live Nation and SJM have previously stated that tickets sold via secondary websites other than Twickets will be canceled and reissued through Ticketmaster at their original price. Their announcement emphasized, “Reselling of tickets is permitted only up to the amount paid (the face value plus booking fee).” They have urged fans to only use official resale partners and Ticketmaster to prevent unauthorized resale and potential cancellation of their tickets.
Ticketmaster has communicated with affected customers: “These regulations were specifically designed to limit ticket resale on unauthorized platforms for profit. Fans are strongly advised to avoid purchasing tickets from these sites to protect themselves from fraud and potential returns.”
Previously, the band had addressed resale issues, stating: “We have noticed attempts by individuals to start selling tickets on the secondary market since the official pre-sale began. Please be advised that tickets can only be resold at their value through Ticketmaster and Twickets. Any tickets sold in violation of these terms will be canceled by the promoters.”
