Danny Carey's instruments drummer invented a bicycle, which he can also use for practice on drums.

Carey’s exercise on a bicycle has a drum platform instead of where the screen can be, allowing him to play music while he practices.

He demonstrated how it works in a video published on YouTube shorts, playing drums while on the bicycle.

Recent Events and Surprises

Last month, Tool surprised fans in California, making an unexpected appearance at the Bass Magazine Awards to celebrate bassist Justin Chancellor’s lifetime achievement award.

At this intimate event, the band performed two tracks for fans. The first was “The Grudge,” taken from the 2001 album “Lateralus,” followed by “Jambi,” from their 2006 album ‘10,000 Days.’

This surprise appearance at the Bass Magazine Awards came ahead of the group’s announcement to host their own festival, “Tool in the Sand.”

Described as a “comprehensive” experience, the festival is set to take place over three days in March in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Tool will perform two sets at the festival, along with Mastodon, Primus, Coheed and Cambria, Eagles of Death Metal, CKY, King’s X, and many more. Artists Alex Gray and Ellison Gray, who play a significant role in Tool’s imagery and album covers, were also announced as special guests.

Pressure of New Music Release

Last year, Chancellor spoke with NME about the pressure from fans to release new music, specifically about the long-awaited follow-up to “Fear Inoculum,” which came out in 2019.

“The only pressure occurs when we announce that we are working on something new, because then we have to make our own predictions on when it will come out, and, obviously, you feel that you will let people down if you don’t release it in a certain timeframe,” he stated.

“It’s a good feeling that people still want new things, but they should also understand that it’s not the easiest task. This isn’t a simple process, and art has a mind of its own. It has its own timeline.”
