Kanye West and Bianca Tsalkori at the Grammys
The wife of Kanye West, Bianca Tsalkori, will not face legal repercussions for her choice to wear a transparent outfit at the Grammy Awards.
Red Carpet Appearance and Reaction
The couple graced the red carpet at the ceremony on Sunday (February 2). Bianca made a statement in a fur coat, which she later shed to reveal an almost completely transparent dress. This outfit was reportedly designed to mimic the cover of the album “Vultures 1,” a collaboration between Ye ¥ $ and Ty Dolla $IGN.
Their appearance drew significant attention on social media, with many expressing concern for the outfit’s boldness. Shortly after the event, they exited, with West later confirming that the decision was made voluntarily and not under any duress.
While the nature of Bianca’s outfit was subject to speculation regarding obscenity, sources from the LAPD confirmed to TMZ that no legal action would be taken. This is attributed to the Grammy Awards being a private event, and no complaints were filed with the police.
In a statement to Page Six, Los Angeles attorney Andrea Oguntula noted, “While Ms. Tsalkori’s outfit may have pushed boundaries, the accusation of obscenity in California necessitates intent to publicly expose genitals with a specific purpose to insult or sexually arouse.”
“Theoretically, this could be considered, but it’s unlikely she will face any criminal charges for this incident.”
Broadcast and Future Projects
Despite the absence of legal issues, the outfit may have breached broadcasting dress codes. According to CBS guidelines, “exposed breasts, buttocks, and genitals” are prohibited at the Grammys (per Deadline). Additionally, the outfit was not shown on television, as “obscene content” is prohibited on cable, satellite, and broadcast channels.
West was nominated for Best Rap Song (“Carnival” featuring Ty Dolla $IGN and Rich The Kid Feat. Playboi Carti) at this year’s event but did not win, losing to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like That.”
This incident follows a previous investigation by police in Venice regarding a supposed “obscene” public occurrence involving the couple on a boat back in 2023.
Recently, snippets of new material featuring the disgraced rapper Diddy were played during a DJ set in Tokyo, including a remix of Future’s “Magic Don Juan.”
It is anticipated that the tracks played will form part of West’s forthcoming album “Hully,” which he announced in September last year during a listening event in China. West informed the audience, “I have a new album, titled ‘Hully’. However, the release date for the album or any tracks is still unclear.
In other news, West mentioned that he is now following Taylor Swift on Instagram, adding another layer to their ongoing rivalry.
