Taylor Swift and Billy Eilish fans react to Grammy snubs

Fans of Taylor Swift and Billy Eilish took to social media to express their outrage over what they deemed as “robbery” at the 2025 Grammy Awards last night (February 2).

Both artists are no strangers to Grammy success, with Swift boasting a total of 14 victories and 58 nominations, while Eilish has secured 9 wins and 31 nominations.

This year, both stars were in contention for the prestigious Record of the Year – Swift for “Two Week” and Eilish for “Birds of the Pen” – but the award ultimately went to Kendrick Lamar.

The rapper emerged as the biggest winner of the night, collecting five awards, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “Not So.” He also won Grammys for Best Rap Album and Best Rap Song for “Not Like Us,” which also took home Best Music Video.

In addition to this, both artists were nominated for Album of the Year: Swift for “Hit Me Hard and Soft” and Eilish for “The Department of Inquisitive Poets.” However, they lost out to Beyoncé’s “Carter Cowboy.” The Texas native also claimed the award for Best Country Album, which many believed should have gone to Swift.

Despite concluding her massively successful “Eras” tour last year, which attracted over 10 million attendees, Swift still received six nominations for this year’s awards.

Eilish also faced a disappointing night, nominated for seven awards alongside her brother and collaborator Finneas but ultimately leaving empty-handed.

Fan outrage and reactions

Swift’s devoted fan base, known as Swifties, expressed their discontent, with many suggesting that Jay-Z wielded influence on the results due to his connection with Beyoncé. “Well, Taylor was robbed,” one fan remarked on social media.

“You can’t tell me that the biggest album of the year from Swift didn’t deserve at least one Grammy. Why did she lose to Beyoncé?” another added.

Many fans were bewildered that the duo, who typically dominate award shows, ended the night without any accolades. One person tweeted: “This Grammy night with zero victories for Eilish and Swift feels surreal.” Read more fan reactions below:

Despite the uproar, both artists seemed unfazed during the evening, with Swift seen enjoying herself alongside Margaret Callie, dancing while Eilish performed “Birds of the Pen” at the ceremony.
