The host of the Grammy Awards, Trevor Noah, addressed the new tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump during his opening monologue for the musical ceremony.

The comedian, who has hosted the event for the fifth consecutive year at the Crypto.com Los Angeles Arena, referenced the record nominee Beyoncé and her upcoming tour, “Carder Cowboy,” while commenting on the financial tariffs introduced by the President of the United States on Canadian goods.

“I will say, although it’s Beyoncé, there are tariffs,” he quipped. “We cannot afford a new tour, right? Maple syrup will be $50 (40.62 pounds).”
