The version was released earlier today (January 29) as part of the Spotify Singles series, showcasing how the Sheffield group celebrates its own distinctive trading sign on the track, nearly 30 years after its original release.
The original acoustic guitar of Noel Gallagher has been replaced by a radio electric riff, while frontman Olya Syks delivers powerful lyrics layered on captivating soundscapes. Listen to the cover here:

Now, the original vocalist of the song has shared his thoughts on the new version. Responding to a post sharing the track on X, he wrote: “I have a damn love him.”

In a later post, Liam reacted to a comment suggesting he would “be so angry” over the cover: “I have not done my day very incredibly, I am leaving my skateboard.”

Bring Me The Horizon also recreated the “Wonderwall” video, with four members of the band sitting in a straight line, while bassist Matt Kin reads a newspaper. All profits from the release will be donated to Teenage Cancer Trust, which you can learn more about here.
The cover is the latest addition to the long-term collection of Spotify, where BMTH joins acts such as IDLES, Wet Leg, and LCD Soundsystem, contributing to covers of their musical heroes.
The metal group was announced as one of the headliners for Reading & Leeds 2025, alongside Chappell Roan, Travis Scott, and Kojo Funds. Visit tickets here.
Although they have previously performed at a dual-location festival, their only main appearance to date was for their epic return in 2022, where they played alongside Sheffield’s Arctic Monkeys.

Last year, the group spoke with NME about the overwhelmingly positive response they received for their album Nex Gen, which was named one of NME‘s best albums of 2024, as well as their upcoming R&L slot and what the future holds.
“Now it seems a little more exciting and there’s slightly more pressure, because there are no excuses,” they stated about the headliner slot, comparing it to their 2022 appearance. “We are the last group that day, and once again we have something to prove.”
Meanwhile, Oasis is set to perform several massive shows across Great Britain and Ireland this summer as part of their highly anticipated reunion tour. After local concerts, the band will head abroad for several international dates.
So far, little is known about which members will join Liam and Noel Gallagher for these monumental concerts, although the frontman has teased hints of setlists and hopes for new material.
Liam also recently expressed his admiration for the Sex Pistols, despite Glen Matlock’s description of Oasis as “boring.” “I remember when I first looked at this record, I thought it was a damn OUIJA board. Then I heard this, and all the heavens burst into freedom,” he remarked. “If you don’t have it, buy it now.”
