Compilation Details
The album, titled “Super Bloom: Benefits for Fire Assistance in Los Angeles,” is a 62-track compilation aimed at providing support for disaster victims. Notable contributors include Jim James, Dirty Projectors, Jenny Lewis, Hiss Golden Messenger, Ty Segall, and Rosali.
This compilation was curated by Nicky Devine, Nicole Lawrence, and Nora McDono, following the devastating fires that led to the evacuation of over 150,000 residents and resulted in 28 confirmed deaths along with 22 individuals reported missing.
Meaning Behind Super Bloom
“Super blooming” describes the breathtaking emergence of orange and red poppies, delicately growing on the scorched hillsides after a long winter or particularly fire-ravaged land,” Devine explains. “Without the burn, the vibrancy wouldn’t be as profound. It serves as a reminder: we will rise from this and be even more magnificent.”
Additionally, a benefit concert titled “G*Ve Af*CK La” will take place at the Hollywood Palladium, featuring performances by Hayley Williams, St. Vincent, Finneas, Lucy Dacus, MUNA, Perfume Genius, and the Linda Lindas.
