Trace Cyrus Speaks Out
Trace Cyrus revealed that his father Billy Ray Cyrus “filed against him a lawsuit” after he urged him to “get help.”
Earlier this week (January 22), the Metro Station guitarist, who is also the older brother of Miley Cyrus and Noah Cyrus, took to Instagram to share his father’s open letter addressing the fallout from his controversial performance at Trump’s inauguration.
The country star endured a series of technical difficulties and faced accusations of a lackluster performance at the Liberty Ball event, prompting some online commentators to question his current well-being.
“Unfortunately, the person whom I so desperately wanted to see is someone I barely recognize now,” Trace stated. “It seems that this world has defeated you, and it has become evident to everyone except you.”
“Perhaps you were upset due to the fact that I published this, but I genuinely did it out of concern. The girls and I have cared about you for so many years, but you have pushed us all away.”
After stating that he has been “sober from alcohol for more than a year and a half,” he addressed Billy Ray directly, expressing: “I don’t know what you are battling with, but I have a decent understanding, and I want to help you if you would just open up and accept it. You know how to reach me. Until that day comes, I will continue to pray for you.”
Now, Trace has shared updated information on Instagram, emphasizing that his message was “above love.”
