Justin Hawkins Reveals His Authentic Self in The Darkness of New Single ‘Rock and Roll Cowboy’

Darkness has revealed a new taste of his upcoming album 'Dreams On Toast' with the release of 'Rock and Roll Cowboy' – listen below.

The band, led by Justin Hawkins, is available for pre-order/pre-show here. They have already teased the album with singles like “I Hate Myself” and “The Longest Kiss.”

Rock and Roll Cowboy

Now, they have embraced the classic rock sounds reminiscent of bands such as ZZ Top, Motorhead, and Judas Priest in “Rock and Roll Cowboy,” showcasing tight guitar solos and theatrical vocals. Check it out here:

Discussing the track, Hawkins remarked: “People recognize me as astronaut pirate movie star badass, and that's clearly accurate. What they may have overlooked is that I am also a rock and roll party Cowboy Cool…that's a good 15 percent cooler!!! I think you'll find out at the first hearing.”

Upcoming Tour

The band is set to embark on a UK tour starting on 6 March at Ipswich's Regent's Theater, concluding with a show at the Ovo Arena Wembley in London on 29 March. Find remaining tickets for the tour here. They will also tour Europe and appear at Festival Festival 2025 this summer.

In other news, Hawkins defended his remarks about Liam Payne on his YouTube channel, explaining why he won’t remove the post following the singer’s death last October.

“It's really sad what happened to him, but it won't change my opinion about that particular behavior,” he told his audience.

Additionally, Hawkins is set to feature on the Stylistics’ first new album in nearly two decades, contributing to the opening and title track “Fell in Love with My Girl.”
