Details About The Band
The Sheffield band, featuring Fat White Family’s Saul Adamczewski and Lias Kaci Saoudi, released their first full-length album, Interplanetary Class Classics, in March 2017.
The record, co-produced by Sean Ono Lennon, features contributions from Yoko Ono, Philip Oakey of The Human League, and Rebecca Lucy Taylor (aka Self Esteem). NME praised the album as “crazy and brilliant” in a four-star review.
Now, The Moonlandingz are back with a fresh track and news of a one-off live show in London.
Released through Transgressive Records, “The Sign Of A Man” offers a glimpse into the band’s upcoming second album, “No Rocket Required”.
This loud and eccentric anthem sees Saudi (aka Johnny Rocket) “disco-pow-pow-pow at any fragile ideas about guys, to deeply erotic and pleasantly frenetic effect.” The track comes with an official music video directed by Jeanie Crystal. Connect here:
Insights from Saudi
Discussing the single, Saudi shared: “Nature has left man unfinished, unresolved, alienated, lost to constant exile, unable or unwilling to surrender even to himself… Is it any wonder he has become heartless?”
“This is a song about boundless apathy, about the transformation of love into need, about our inability to cause ‘care’… it is a song about justice.”
“The Sign Of A Man” was written, recorded, produced, and mixed at The Bowling Green Studios in Sheffield, featuring Messer Saudi and band members Adrian Flanagan and Dean Honer.
No further details about “No Missile Required” have been disclosed at this time.
The Moonlandingz are set to take the stage at The Lexington in north London on Friday, February 21. Ticket details here and check the official poster above.
Last September, the band performed at The Garage in the capital to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Transgressive Records, marking their first live performance in nearly seven years.
Meanwhile, Fat White Family is slated to support Primal Scream in London this April, with numerous shows lined up in March across France. Their latest album, Forgiveness Is Yours, was released last spring.
